If you use Windows Live Messenger Services and you use Windows 7 with the older style Taskbar function for the the program task tabs. than you see doubles for Windows Live Messenger.

I am telling you i thought there was no way to fix this, and that it was the software`s fault and not my operating system. Well it turns out it’s kind of both. There is a kind of fix for this however. Simple enough just use Compatibility mode on the application.
Browse to the following folder locations (on your respective versions)
| | | copy code | | ? |
| 1 | Windows Se7en 64 Bit |
| 2 | C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Messenger |
| 3 | |
| 4 | Windows Se7en 32 Bit |
| 5 | C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger |
Right Click and Select Properties With Left Click.
Navigate to the Compatibility Tab and check the “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
making sure to select Windows XP(Service Pack 3) or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)

The Results will vary so try all the different modes from Windows XP and up. My results were as follow.
